Bio: Shea’s coaching philosophy encompasses complete player development, with a focus on technical proficiency, physical and mental conditioning, and diverse tactical understanding. Embracing the Dutch “Total Soccer” and the Spanish “Tiki Taka” coaching methods, Shea believes kids thrive in a healthy learning environment where they are exposed to many roles and responsibilities, given room to make decisions, and allowed to express themselves within their role in the team. Shea takes a multi-sensory learning approach to develop players and teams, which strive to find success through their ability and passion to learn and perform within the culture of teamwork. Shea believes the best youth coaches strike a balance between being demanding and fun, while always maintaining their status as a role model. His views on coaching soccer go hand in hand with teaching life lessons, paramount to becoming valued and productive young adults. Players who work under his coaching can expect to quickly improve their skill on and off the ball, their game understanding, self-confidence, and emerge with a strong sense of sportsmanship.
